Joe Hart is set to watch on from the bench again, after Manuel Pellegrini confirmed that Costel Pantilimon will feature in goal during Manchester City's Champions League clash against CSKA Moscow.
It will be the third successive fixture that the England number one looks set to miss, with manager Pellegrini insistent on giving him a break, following a series of howlers between the posts.
The City manager told The Mirror: “I don’t know when Joe Hart will come back.
"At this moment, it's very important for him to have a rest because he has played all the matches for the last two-and-a-half years.
"We will see in the future what we must do, but for tomorrow, Pantilimon will play."
Hart has come under intense scrutiny recently, but the manger claims he has taken being dropped well, and is improving his work in training.
The news is a blow to Hart, especially with the World Cup fast approaching, and the shot stopper will be hoping to re-secure his starting position sooner rather than later.
The Chilean manager has also given UEFA his backing to close part of the CSKA’s Khimki Arena, after the Russian fans racially abused Yaya Toure in Moscow two weeks ago.
He added: “"I think that UEFA have acted and made the punishment that they deserved.
"I hope now that this is a thing we can leave in the past. It will be an example to the Russian fans because they have a World Cup in their country."
