Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud and Chelsea winger Eden Hazard are among the nominees for October's Premier League Player of the Month award.

The duo are joined by Liverpool strikers Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge, Manchester City's Sergio Aguero and Southampton midfielder Adam Lallana, who was called up to the England squad by Roy Hodgson this afternoon.

However, there was no place among the nominees for Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey, who scored the Gunners' winning goal against Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday night.

Ramsey's teammate Giroud scored one league goal in October, against Crystal Palace, and contributed two assists.

Hazard netted three league goals last month, Suarez scored four - including a superb hat-trick against West Brom, while Sturridge bagged three.

The in-form Aguero must be a strong candidate to win the award after scoring four goals in three matches in October, while Lallana netted against both Swansea City and Manchester United.

October Player of the Month nominees:

Adam Lallana | Southampton

Eden Hazard | Chelsea

Daniel Sturridge | Liverpool

Luis Suarez | Liverpool

Olivier Giroud | Arsenal

Sergio Aguero | Manchester City
