Chelsea might be set to boost their attacking midfield options even further, with reports suggesting that the Premier League outfit could be set to bid for Schalke 04 starlet Max Meyer.

Returning Blues boss Jose Mourinho already has a plethora of options in the final third, with the likes of Eden Hazard, Oscar, Juan Mata and Andre Schurrle all competing for places behind the lone striker in a 4-2-3-1 setup.

Despite that evident strength, however, according to German newspaper Bild, Chelsea are interested in signing Meyer. The 18-year-old has been something of a revelation for Jens Keller's men so far this season, defying his relative inexperience with a succession of exciting displays in the Bundesliga.

Clearly encouraged by such impressive performances, Bild suggest that the Blues could be set to offer as much as €15 million in an attempt to secure the services of the highly-gifted youngster.

Whether Schalke would be content to part with Meyer, however, remains to be seen. With persistently intense transfer speculation continuing to surround German international Julian Draxler, it is surely unlikely that they would allow both to depart in the near future.
