1. Alan Shearer
No English striker in the Premier League era comes close to England and Newcastle legend Alan Shearer.
He holds the record for most goals in the competition with 260 in 434 appearances for Southampton, Blackburn and boyhood club Newcastle.
Shearer won only a solitary Premier League championship in his career when he helped Blackburn, aided by Jack Walker's millions and Kenny Dalglish's leadership, to the title in 1994.
He then switched to Newcastle for £15 million and while he continued his goalscoring exploits he was unable to inspire his club to greatness.
