Chelsea are ready to make a move for Sevilla left-back Alberto Moreno as a replacement for Ashley Cole, reports The Mirror.

Moreno, who is also the subject of interest from the likes of Real Madrid and Manchester United, is just 21-years-old and is able to play in the latter rounds of the Champions League, should he depart the Spanish outfit.

The Blues are looking to slowly phase Cole out of the side and could be set to do that this season with a January move for Moreno looking a possibility.

However, Cole will be desperate to keep his place in the Blues starting XI for atleast the remainder of this season as he targets a place in Roy Hodgson's England squad.

The left-back is currently going head-to-head with Everton star Leighton Baines for the left-back spot for the Three Lions.

But with the Blues now ready to make a £20m move for the La Liga star, Cole's place in the Chelsea side will come under increasing threat.
