Liverpool fans have been told by Steven Gerrard to relish the sight of Luis Suarez in the red of the Anfield club while they still have the opportunity.

Gerrard hinted that Kopites would not be watching the club's in-form star putting in man-of-the-match performances for very much longer, as his long-term future continues to be discussed.

Liverpool are second in the Premier League. two points behind leaders Arsenal, and Suarez has been in sensational form since completing his ten-game ban for biting Chelsea's Branislav Ivanovic for last season.

Eight goals in six appearances is prolific form by anyone's standards, but it comes with the backdrop of a summer where Suarez attempted to engineer a move to Arsenal and that continued good performances could well increase the likelihood of him leaving.

“I think everyone knows how much I rate him. I think we are very lucky to have him and we have to enjoy him while he’s here," Gerrard is quoted as saying in the Evening Standard.

“For me he is one of the top four or five players in the world for sure.”

Real Madrid are another club that have been credited with an interest in the Uruguay international, though the Gunners could well renew their interest as they are short of options in the striking positions.

Liverpool fans may be dreading the day that Suarez departs Merseyside but they will have been encouraged by the form of Daniel Sturridge, who has continued his good scoring form since his move from Chelsea in January, notching eight times in his first 11 league games.
