Manchester United are reported to be planning a January move for Borussia Dortmund midfielder Marco Reus.

The Premier League champions are considering a player-plus-cash offer for the Germany international, with Shinji Kagawa set to be included in the proposed deal.

Another player who could be on the move in the transfer window is Monaco striker Radamel Falcao, as Chelsea plan a British record £60 million offer.

The Colombian, who only moved to Monaco in the summer, is also wanted by Real Madrid.

Arsenal defender Per Mertesacker could be rewarded for his excellent start to the season with a new contract.

The German centre-back has been a model of consistency for the Gunners this term, and has helped propel them to the top of the Premier League.

Lionel Messi's latest hamstring complaint is a result of the player being rushed back from injury last season, according to Barcelona's former chief medic.

Messi is facing up to eight weeks on the sidelines after a hamstring tear in the weekend victory over Real Betis.

Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany could be unavailable for another three weeks as he bids to overcome a thigh injury.

Kompany has missed City's last seven matches, and the persistent problem means he will be unable to feature for Belgium during the international break.

Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen has expressed his disappointment at not being afforded a more regular role in the Premier League.

The Denmark international has featured numerous times in the Europa League since his transfer from Ajax, but had hoped for more playing time domestically.
