Manchester United star Nemanja Vidic's agent has refuted claims his client is set for a move to Juventus.

Vidic, whose current contract runs out in the summer, has been continuously linked with a move away from Old Trafford during his seven-year spell at the club.

However Silvano Martina, who deals with Vidic's contract negotiations, has again quashed any suggestions that the Serbian defender will move to Juventus.

Speaking to Fantagazzetta, Martina said: "I obviously read these rumours. I do not understand how they manage to get out every time. It is useless to make comment on pub talk. Hot air.

“Vidic is sick of hearing some rumours speculating on the future. I do not want to hear any more about these situations that occasionally come out of the papers.

“I do not understand all these rumours. I repeat – if a paper comes out with a joke, then it is not given that others should follow. Some things you can’t comment on.”

The 32-year-old, who had to be substituted during Manchester United's clash against Arsenal, has featured 13 times for the Red Devils so far this season.

Manchester United boss David Moyes will be keen to keep hold of his captain, as he remains a key part of the Premier League champions' set up.

Moyes will also be hoping his star defender recovers from the head injury he picked up on Sunday in time for Manchester United's next match against Cardiff City on November 24.
