Accurate crosses-per-game: 2.4

On to the wingers, and traditionally the wide men were in the team to do one thing; cross the ball.

In the modern game they tend to cut in-field more to make room for full-backs bombing on. Their also tends to be more playing on the wrong flank, meaning players who play on the opposite side to their stronger foot which causes them to cut in and shoot more often than cross.

We're going to judge based on the more traditional virtues of a winger (if only because other criteria like shooting and passing are taken up by others in different positions) - and while it is obvious that David Silva isn't a traditional left-winger, his brilliantly accurate passing means he's also a dab-hand at whipping the ball into the box.

Silva has three assists this season and averages an impressive 3.9 key passes-per-game, proving he really is an all-rounder.
