Borussia Dortmund are said to be targeting Arsenal and Chelsea target Diego Costa in a bid to replace Robert Lewandowski, according to French newspaper Le 10 Sport.

The high-flying Atletico Madrid striker, who has netted 13 times in 13 La Liga matches this season, is being followed by a number of clubs, including Premier League giants Arsenal and Chelsea.

However Dortmund are believed to be attempting to force their way to the front of the pack in preparation for when their own star forward leaves in January.

Lewandowski, who is one of the only players in the world to be able to boast a similar record to that of Diego Costa, is all but a certainty to leave Dortmund in the next transfer window, as they look to recoup at least some money from his loss, rather than letting him depart for free in the summer.

Ironically, Chelsea and Arsenal have both been linked with the big Pole as well, but recent reports are suggesting that it's Bayern Munich he will be transferring to as opposed to a move to England.

Costa is rumoured to be available for around €24million, as he has a release-clause within his current contract, and it's more than likely that there will be a heated race for his services in January if his current vein of form continues.
