Some stars, try as they might, simply can't seem to be able to string good performances together.

Adverse surroundings, fatigue and injury, large amounts of pressure and off-pitch concerns can all apply, but there's some stars who are incapable of performing to the full expectations on a regular basis, regardless of their circumstances.

As the modern game continues to grow in strength it becomes increasingly important that team's have their star players playing to their full capabilities on a weekly basis and so now, perhaps more than ever, it's usually highlighted quite boldly when a footballer is having a bad game.

In homage to some truly indifferent performers this year, we've compiled a list of the most inconsistent stars on the planet.
