Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has revealed that he reads the Bible before matches.

The Portuguese, widely regarded as one of the world's best coaches, insists that taking the time to read the Good Book makes him feel positive.

"Before a game, in my room, I open the Bible and read from a chapter for a couple of minutes," he told Japanese magazine Sports Graphic Number. "It always gives me a positive feeling."

Mourinho is one of the most successful managers in football history, having won multiple league titles with FC Porto, Chelsea, Inter Milan and Real Madrid.

He also has two Champions League winners' medals, having won Europe's most prestigious club competition with Porto and Inter, as well as many more medals for smaller cup successes.

He returned to Chelsea this summer, but the Blues only sit in fourth place at present, having won six of their opening 11 matches.

But Mourinho does not require divine inspiration to steer Chelsea back into the Premier League title race just yet - the Blues are just four points off league-leaders Arsenal.
