AS Roma are ready to battle Juventus for the signature of Nemanja Vidic, reports Le 10 Sport.

The 32-year-old is out of contract at Manchester United in the summer after enjoying a successful seven year spell at the club.

He has continued to play a pivotal part in the Old Trafford outfit even this season, still forming a strong partnership with Rio Ferdinand at the heart of the defence.

Starting eight of Manchester United's 11 Premier League games so far this season, Vidic has proved to be a vital asset to David Moyes in his first season in charge of Manchester United.

However, with no news a contract extension forthcoming from United officials, his future at the Premier League champions appears to be in doubt.

The French publication had reported late last week that Antonio Conte was keen to bring the Serbian international to the Juventus stadium and was planning a £4m-a-year deal to convince Vidic to leave Old Trafford.

However, it appears Vidic's situation at Old Trafford is being monitored by more than one team in Serie A.

Rudi Garcia is also keen on taking the Manchester United skipper to table-topping AS Roma in the summer.

Moyes has previously stated his intention to offer Vidic a new deal but any extension to his current contract is yet to be agreed.
