Liverpool left-back Jose Enrique has been ruled out of his side's derby clash against arch-rivals Everton, reports the Daily Star.
The Spaniard has been in and out of Liverpool's team this season due to a long-term knee injury.
Reports suggest Enrique, who has played just nine games for Brendan Rodgers' side this season, will have to undergo knee surgery in order to rectify his recurring injury problem.
The 27-year-old, who moved to Anfield from Newcastle United in 2011, returned to the Liverpool side against Fulham on November 9 - when he came off the substitutes' bench to play the last 29 minutes against the west London side.
France international Aly Cissokho, who joined Liverpool on a season-long loan deal from Valencia in August, is likely to deputise in Enrique's absence.
Enrique is likely to miss the majority of Liverpool's festive schedule if his injury is as bad as first feared.
