Chelsea have stepped up their intrigue over Paris Saint-Germain starlet Adrien Rabot, and are now 'very interested' in buying him, according to French newspaper Le 10 Sport.

The 18-year-old midfielder has greatly impressed this season with the French champions and is considered to be capable of achieving great things if allowed to mature in the right surroundings.

Rabiot's current deal with PSG runs until 2015 but his club know that they will need to offer him a far more lucrative long-term contract if they are to guarantee his commitment to them other their rivals.

It's believed that the powers that be at Stamford Bridge believe they can take advantage of the fact that Rabiot wants game-time that he's likely to be denied at the Parc des Princes, and are willing to try their hand.

It's likely that the matter will be resolved sooner rather than later, but with Chelsea likely to be rivalled by Tottenham in any pursuit they embark on, Rabiot's future is certainly one that's worth keeping an eye on.
