QPR star Joey Barton slammed Manchester United after their 2-2 draw against Cardiff City yesterday, reports The Daily Mail.

The ex-Premier League star took to Twitter to suggest that David Moyes' side have never been so poor in the middle of midfield and they have a huge reliance on Michael Carrick.

The Red Devils sit sixth in the Premier League with just six wins from their opening 12 fixtures. Moyes saw his side concede a late equaliser at the Cardiff City stadium, which led to Barton slamming the Premier League champions.

Barton tweeted: "Easily the worst Man United side in Premiership history this. Don't think they have ever been this weak in middle of the park."

The QPR ace then took to Twitter again and said: "Shows how important Carrick is..."

Manchester United now turn their attentions to the Champions League as they travel to Germany to take on Bayer Leverkusen.

The Red Devils can secure qualification to the knockout stages with a win at the BayArena.

The Manchester United boss has injury problems ahead of the game with Carrick and Phil Jones out of the match and Marouane Fellaini suspended.
