San Francisco 49ers star Ahmad Brooks believes Robert Griffin III should not have returned to NFL action, reports ESPN

Brooks, who played against Griffin on Monday night, believes his opponent hasn't fully recovered from his knee injury from last season and insists that he's returned to action too quickly.

Robert Griffin III struggled as the Washington Redskins were comfortably beaten 27-6 by the 49ers on Monday night. Griffin only managed to throw 127 yards on 17-of-27 of his passes and now Brooks has questioned Griffin's involvement.

Speaking to reporters, Brooks said: "He's obviously a man and he makes his own decisions, but I personally don't feel he should be playing right now.

"He's a man, he has the heart of a warrior and is going to go out there and play regardless of the circumstance. Everybody can see it. Everybody can see it. He shouldn't be playing."

Griffin III will get another chance to prove his fitness to the Redskins as they take on the New York Giants at the FedEx Field on Monday. They will be desperate to respond after their latest damaging defeat to the the 49ers.

Meanwhile, for Brooks and the 49ers, they take on the St. Louis Rams, who beat the Chicago Bears in their last outing.
