Manchester United have allowed Red Devils youngster Jesse Lingard to extend his stay at Birmingham City.

Lingard, who moved to St Andrew's in September on an initial one-month youth loan deal, hit the ground running after sealing a move to the Championship outfit.

The 20-year-old scored four goals on his debut for the Blues against Sheffield Wednesday, which made him an instant hit with Birmingham City's supporters.

After a string of fine performances, Birmingham City boss Lee Clark moved quickly to extend his loan deal by a further two months.

The deal would have seen Lingard return to Old Trafford on December 14, however Birmingham City have now reached an agreement for the England Under-21 star to remain at the club until January 1.

Manchester United boss David Moyes will be keen for Lingard to garner some more experience whilst out on loan, before returning to Old Trafford to compete for a first-team spot.
