Ryan Giggs is like the Duracel Bunny. No, not like that you filthy-minded little pups. What I mean is that he just keeps going,and going and going. To be fair, Imogen Thomas may be able to say the same….

The geriatric winger showed he still had the engine of a man half his age when he covered no less than 10,000 metres for Manchester United in their 5-0 Champions League victory against Bayer Leverkusen last night.

Such was Giggs' endeavour that, according to Wayne Rooney at least, one Leverkusen player could scarily believe what he was seeing.

“During the game, actually, their centre-half was asking 'how he is still playing at that age?' said the striker afterwards.

In this day and age (as Giggs probably starts most of his sentences now) football is all about athleticism and hard running, but who has racked up the most metres in the Champions League this season - and can rightly claim to be the hardest working player in Europe?
