Arsenal predicted XI v Cardiff

It has been yet another good week for Arsenal, with the Premier League leaders having negotiated a potentially tricky domestic tie against fellow high-flyers Southampton at the Emirates Stadium last weekend thanks to a brace from French striker Olivier Giroud.

That impressive showing was followed up with another dominant Champions League display against Marseille on Tuesday evening.

This time, it was Jack Wilshere's turn to notch a double as Arsenal easily cruised to an effortless 2-0 triumph over a woeful Marseille outfit that all but secured their place in the first knockout phase of the tournament.

This weekend, Arsenal return to domestic action on Saturday with a potentially tricky top-flight clash against Cardiff City.

Although much speculation currently surrounds the future of Cardiff boss Malky Mackay, his players continue to show the sort of admirable resolve that secured them a last-gasp point against defending champions Manchester United last Sunday.

Focusing on the home side, though, Mathieu Flamini looks set to continue back in the side after returning from suspension, while Kieran Gibbs is expected to have shaken off the illness that kept him out of the clash against Marseille.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger would appear to have no fresh injuries worries, with Lukas Podolski back in training but unlikely to feature.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Yaya Sanogo and Abou Diaby are all still unavailable.

With that in mind, here GMS attempts to predict the Arsenal lineup for Saturday's match:

Arsenal predicted XI to face Cardiff:

Szczesny, Gibbs, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Sagna; Ramsey, Flamini; Walcott, Cazorla, Ozil; Giroud.
