Kobe Bryant has revealed that he is extremely happy with the new deal he has agreed with the L.A Lakers, according to

The 35-year-old penned a new two-year extension with his franchise which is worth a reported $48.5million, and the shooting guard has revealed his elation at agreeing terms on the deal.

"The Lakers came up with the structure - a system and a plan they thought was a win-win for everybody involved. From my perspective, it was very easy to accept it," Bryant said.

The contract will mean that Bryant will enter his 20th season for the Lakers, and undoubtedly be the last he is offered in mainstream professional basketball.

However, moving onto more imminent plans, it's also believed that the legendary NBA star is now nearing his return to regular action, having been forced to sit on the sidelines through an Achilles tendon injury since April.

Rumours have been rife over the last two weeks concerning when he will step back onto the court for the first time, but Bryant is now marking the December 6 clash in Sacramento as a potential possibility.

"Those three days when we get back [from their current three-game road trip] are going to be huge," Bryant said. "I need some more practices to measure it and test it."
