Gareth Bale is confident that he is at the best club in the world and feels that they can achieve big things this season.

“In my opinion Real Madrid is the best team in the world," the Welshman told Real Madrid's official website. "We have the best players and the best stadium, and everything about the club is perfect. The reason I signed for Real Madrid is because it is the best club in the world. I want to win a lot of things and this is the best team you can be in.

“I want to carry on working hard, show what I can do on the pitch and score a lot of goals. I hope I can spend a lot of time with this team, win a lot of titles and show everyone that we are a great club that always plays to win. I want to help the team, do my best on the pitch and above all winning titles and trophies, which is the objective of all of us here”.

Bale spoke about the lengthy transfer saga that led to him making his much anticipated move to the Santiago Bernabeu from White Hart Lane during the summer.

He continued: “It was a very long summer in terms of being able to come to Real Madrid. I found out about the news when my agent called me. It was a long period of negotiations over the summer, it was a bit difficult, but when it was sorted out it was an amazing feeling. The first people I shared it with were my family”.

The attacker then went on to share his thoughts on fellow teammate, Cristiano Ronaldo and his exploits with Portugal during the World Cup qualifiers.

“In my view, Cristiano Ronaldo is the best player in the world," Bale added. "This season he is showing what a great player he is. And he does it under pressure like he did against Sweden. He is the best by a long way and he shows it in every match”.

Bale also spoke warmly of the assistance and affection shown to him by his teammates and the supporters of the club.

He added: “The welcome has been spectacular. Everyone has really welcomed me and they have helped me to adapt very quickly and show my football on the pitch. I am very happy about everything; it has all turned out very well and I hope that everything will carry on like this.

"My team mates are helping me to learn Spanish on the pitch and in the training sessions. There are some jokes, but that is normal. For me learning the language is important and that is what I am trying to make an effort to do”.

The 24-year-old has been in sensational form since making his move to Real Madrid in the summer. His recent exploits include scoring his first ever hat-trick for the Spanish outfit in their 4-0 win over Valladolid in La Liga.
