USC are said to be about to confirm that Steve Sarkisian will be the new head coach at the Torjans, after interim coach Ed Orgeron resigned from the job, according to ESPN.
USC have won nine of their thirteen games this season but lost in the final on Saturday to UCLA 35-14.
But Sarkisian has taken over from Orgeron and has an established background, coaching USC's quarterback for a number of years before going on to take the job at Washington for four years.
The 39-year-old stated he can't wait to get stuck into this new job.
"I am extremely excited to be coming home to USC and for the opportunity USC gives me to win championships. I can't wait to get started."
In Sarkisian's first season, the coach had a record of 5-7, before turning this around and winning seven games in consecutive seasons for three years. In his last year Washington finished third in the North section and wrapped up 8-4 in the overall games.
However previous coach Ed Orgeron was outraged with the decision, issuing him to resign from his post at USC.
The 52-year-old then released a quote stating how proud he was to be apart of USC.
"I am grateful to the Unveristy of Southern California for the great time I had here. I am especially grateful for the Trojan players, coaching staff and families who have grown to be close friends to me over the last 11 years. Fight On!"
During his time as interim head coach, Orgeron lead USC to a 6-2 record, losing against Notre Dame and UCLA.
"We are happy to welcome Steve back at the Trojan family." Haden stated. "We pinpointed 20 candidates, and kept returning to Sarkisian. He was the only one offered the job." the athletic director then concluded to state Sarkisian is a successful leader.
"He is an innovative coach who recruits well and develops players. He is a proven and successful leader."
