The Oakland Athletics have reached a two-year agreement with Scott Kazmir worth $22million, reports ESPN.

After moving in to the free agency market following two years with the Cleveland Indians, the left-handed pitcher will join up with Bob Melvin and Billy Beane in Oakland.

Over nine seasons with the Tampa Bay Rays, Los Angeles Angels and Indians, Kazmir, who turns 30 early next year, is 76-70 with an ERA of 4.16.

Kazmir returned from pitching 1 2/3 innings over a two year span to achieve a 10-9 record with a 4.04 for the Indians in 2013.

As the A's rotation is now fortified, it is believed the acquisition of Kazmir brings attempts to re-sign Bartolo Colon to an end.

The 29-year-old was a first round draft pick for the New York Mets in 2002 and made the AL All-Star team twice in 2006 and 2008.

However, the last few years have seen Kazmir struggle with a number of mechanical issues and injuries, leading to his eventual release by the Los Angeles Angels in 2011.

After earning a spot of the Cleveland rotation, he struck 162 batters out in 158 innings.

The contract is pending a physical and is yet to be finalized.
