New Orleans Pelicans have revealed that their standout forward-center Anthony Davis will miss four to six weeks of action after breaking his left hand, reports ESPN

Davis, who left the court during the Pelicans' 103-99 victory over the New York Knicks on Sunday evening, was evaluated by team doctors on Tuesday and now looks set to spend an extended period on the sidelines.

This will come as major blow for the Pelicans after the star started their first 16 games averaging 18.8 points.

The 2012 top overall draft choice will now have to enter a recovery process as he looks to get back onto the court.

Without him, the Pelicans secured their third straight victory yesterday over the Chicago Bulls as they ran out 131-128 winners at the United Center.

Their attentions now turn to tomorrow's clash with the Dallas Mavericks as they look to continue their winning run.
