Borussia Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gundogan has shunned interest from the Premier League as he eyes a move to Real Madrid, reports Sport.

The 23-year-old has been linked with a host of clubs after his inspirational form in midfield helped Dortmund reach the final of the Champions League last season.

Jurgen Klopp has been keen to tie the German international to a long term contract but Gundogan has so far refused to extend his deal past June 2015.

Both Arsenal and Manchester United were keen on the player, with the Daily Mirror saying Arsene Wenger and David Moyes were both ready to make a £25m bid.

The Gunners interest seemed to have gone quiet following the emergence of Aaron Ramsey but Moyes & Manchester United are still desperately seeking reinforcements as their title defence continues to crumble.

But they have been forced to end their interest in the player after contacting his representatives, who told them that Gundogan is only interested in a move to Real Madrid and may already have an agreement with Bernabeu officials.

Carlo Ancelotti is keen to add options to his midfield, Sami Khedira suffering a serious knee injury and doubts remaining over the future of Xabi Alonso.

Gundogan's refusal to sign a new deal is forcing Dortmund's hand and the Bundesliga club are willing to sell for €30m.

Real Madrid are ready to offer €18m plus Nuri Sahin, who is currently on loan at his former club, Dortmund and are confident of lowering the asking price as Gundogan's contract enters it's final 18 months in January.
