Manchester United: Predicted XI v Newcastle

Manchester United return to Old Trafford on Saturday lunchtime, just three days after suffering their fourth Premier League defeat of the season to Everton.

David Moyes' big night was ruined in the closing stages of the match, when Brian Oviedo popped up with the Toffees' winning goal.

That result left the Red Devils ninth in the table, 12 points behind league-leaders Arsenal.

Subsequently, Saturday's match against Newcastle falls into the must-win category.

But Moyes' hopes of taking all three points were dashed on Wednesday, when star man Wayne Rooney picked up his fifth yellow card of the season, which means he'll miss this weekend's match.

With Robin van Persie also doubtful, Moyes could hand a rare start to Javier Hernandez, while keeping Shinji Kagawa in the No. 10 role.

Danny Welbeck could make way for Adnan Januzaj on the left-hand side, although Antonio Valencia should retain his place on the right wing.

Marouane Fellaini is expected to partner Phil Jones, who returns from suspension, in central midfield.

While Rio Ferdinand could return to the fold, along with Jonny Evans, at the heart of defence.

Rafael and Patrice Evra are likely to stay at right and left-back, respectively, and David de Gea will start between the sticks.
