Everton boss Roberto Martinez has revealed that left-back Leighton Baines will not be leaving the club despite the emergence of Bryan Oviedo, reports The Express

Baines has been constantly linked with a move to Premier League giants Manchester United in recent time and it's expected that the Red Devils will come back in for the England international in January.

However Martinez, who led the Merseyside outfit to a famous victory at Old Trafford on Wednesday, has insisted that Baines will not be leaving the club despite the impressive form of Oviedo.

Baines is currently out with an injury and has been successfully replaced in the team by Oviedo of late.

However, on the possibility of Baines leaving the club for Manchester United, Martinez told reporters: "Nothing changes.

"We want to finish the season with the strongest squad we can have. The last thing we want is to lose experienced players who mean a lot to Everton and represent a lot of what we want to achieve.

"Bryan has done really well and is an example to everyone that you have to be ready to take your chance and that there can be no excuses. The level of competition here is helping us and gives us focus."

Everton are currently flying high in the Premier League and sit in fifth in the table, whereas Manchester United continue to struggle under David Moyes and are way back in ninth place.

Everton and Manchester United are both in action this weekend as the Toffees take on league leaders Arsenal at the Emirates and the Red Devils play host to Newcastle United.
