Kieran Gibbs is a brilliant left-back and would be a top player for England but he just cannot get in ahead of Leighton Baines or Ashley Cole at the moment. However by 2018, Cole will be 37 and Baines will be 33 so probably would have both retired from international football by then. By 2018, he will definitely have a chance and should be the first choice given he is an Arsenal player too.

His biggest competition for the left-back place after 2014 will be Southampton left-back, Luke Shaw who will be 22 going on 23 at the World Cup in Russia.

Gibbs plays for Arsenal and because of the Gunners' amazing performances this season, this has gotten the English Arsenal players more recognition getting Gibbs in to the most recent England squad.

Gibbs scored in Arsenal's second match of the season against Fenerbahce this season and has played 19 times this season for the gunners and has made himself the first choice left-back ahead of Spain international, Nacho Monreal.
