Arsenal are all set to swoop for highly-rated Barcelona startler Toni Sanabria after it emerged that he has opted to reject the Catalans' offer of a new contract.

The Mirror reports that Arsene Wenger, who has long admired the Spanish starlet, is poised to make his move following the revelations that Sanabria wants to part ways with his current club and seek pastures new.

The 17-year-old only has a £2.5million release clause embedded into his current deal, which is said to have 18 months remaining.

There are a host of European giants, including the likes of Roma and AC Milan, chasing the youngster, who is expected to become a top player, but Wenger's track-record when it comes to developing youth players may give the Gunners the edge.

Arsenal are said to be looking to add more firepower to their squad in January- and are desperate to add more strikers to their squad in order to support Olivier Giroud.
