Kobe Bryant netted his first dunk since returning from a torn Achilles during the LA Lakers' 114-108 defeat to the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday night.

There were concerns that, after suffering such a serious injury, the 35-year-old would not be able to produce such moments of individual inspiration.

But the Lakers star quickly dismissed such fears - by successfully dunking in only his second appearance of the season.

The sight of Kobe dunking delighted the Lakers fans inside the Staples Center in Los Angeles, while the play also brought the team's bench to its feet.

But his dunking exploits were not enough to save the Lakers from defeat. The Western Conference outfit have suffered losses in both matches since Kobe's return and currently sit second to bottom of the Pacific division standings.
