Luis Suarez is set to find himself at the centre of a January transfer tussle between two of Europe's biggest teams, according to sources in France.

The free-scoring Uruguayan has been tipped to leave Anfield for a hefty sum at some point this year, with interest from both Real Madrid and Chelsea affirmed.

Liverpool's star man almost joined Arsenal in the summer, only to be convinced to stay at the club by manager Brendan Rodgers.

However it's now believed that hit-man, who Premier League rivals Manchester City are said to be willing to pay in excess of €40million for, will be at the centre of a transfer battle in the winter transfer window, with Madrid and Chelsea intent on capturing his signature.

It remains to be seen whether or not Suarez will kick up a fuss in order to force a move, or if he is happy to remain at Liverpool until the end of the season.

The 26-year-old has been in fine form this campaign and currently tops the Premier League goalscoring charts with 14 goals in only 10 games.
