Manchester United are keeping a close eye on Inter Milan midfielder Fredy Guarin, according to

Red Devils boss David Moyes has reportedly sent Manchester United representatives over to Italy to discuss a deal which would see Guarin move to Old Trafford in January.

The 27-year-old Colombia international is an attractive option for Manchester United due to the fact that he is eligible to play in the last-16 of the Champions League.

Manchester United boss Moyes is keen on bolstering his midfield options in January as his side have struggled in the Premier League this season.

Guarin - who is said to be valued at £15million - could replace fellow South American midfielder Anderson, who has been linked with a move to Porto and Tottenham.

Inter Milan's Guarin, who can play in a number of different midfield roles, has scored three goals in 15 Serie A games so far this season.

His agent recently said on speculation linking his client with a move to Old Trafford: "David Moyes appreciates him."
