Atlanta Braves are closing in on a deal to sign free-agent Gavin Floyd, reports ESPN.
A deal, which could be completed by the end of today, will see the pitcher return to action after previous spells with the Philadelphia Phillies and Chicago White Sox.
Over 10 seasons, Floyd has a career average of 70-70 with a 4.48 ERA and will be hoping to get back to his best form at the Braves.
He went under surgery after tearing his ulnar collateral ligament last May and will now be hoping to make a major impact in 2014.
It had previously been reported that the Braves were looking to add depth to their pitching rotation with the likes of Mike Minor, Julio Teheran, Kris Medlen, Brandon Beachy and Alex Wood currently in the setup.
Now with Floyd about to come on board, the Braves will be hoping for success in 2014.
