Jamal Crawford made his first start in 100 regular-season games to help the Los Angeles Clippers to a 113-97 victory over the Washington Wizards on Saturday night, reports

The 33-year-old shooting guard scored 17 points in 39 minutes in the Nation's Capital, marking an impressive return to Doc Rivers's starting line-up, having done so on only six occasions in the previous 315 games.

Crawford has been on of the most productive reserves in the league for years - during spells with Atlanta, Portland, and now the Clippers - but has always regarded himself as a starter.

And, in the absence of the injured J.J. Redick, who fractured his right hand and tore a ligament in his wrist, the veteran is now finally being given an opportunity to show what he can do, after replacing Willie Green - who was selected for the first seven games of Redick's absence - on the floor.
