5. Eduardo

Football News

Former Arsenal striker Eduardo's return from a year-long absence against Cardiff City in 2009 was endemic of his time at the Emirates Stadium, bagging a brace before picking up a hamstring problem.

Eduardo's prolific streak during his early Arsenal career was cut short by a horrific injury, with the Croatian forward suffering a broken leg in a tackle by Birmingham City defender Martin Taylor.

Gunners fans at least got the chance to enjoy an emotionally-charged return to action 10 months later though, as Eduardo fought back the tears to score twice in front of an adoring home crowd.

Eduardo has since returned to Arsenal with current club Shakhtar Donetsk, remembered fondly by the Gunners faithful as a player who deserved better than dreadful luck with injuries.
