Floyd Mayweather has come to the defence of his friend Adrian Broner after his loss to Marcos Maidana.
Maidana put Broner on the canvas twice before winning on a unanimous points decision in Texas.
Broner’s friend and mentor, Floyd Mayweather, is the best pound for pound fighter on the planet and feels that comments made by his family are completely unjustified.
Speaking to Fight Hype, Mayweather said: "As far as my dad and uncle Roger, but they need to be more positive. If my dad or Rodger is not training a fighter, I don't feel like it's right to talk negative about a trainer if they are not training the fighter."
Losing is something the best pound for pound fighter doesn't know. Floyd Mayweather has stepped into the ring 45 times, 26 of those opponents did not hear the final bell.
After the fight the one thing that Broner and Mayweather have in common is that they both pick up seven figure pay cheques.
Mayweather was guaranteed $41.5 million for fighting Alvarez and believes that Broner should be more positive after his loss.
“Adrien Broner lost, okay, he lost. It comes with the territory. You win some you lose some. At the end of the day he walked away with a seven figure cheque”.
Mayweather is expected to announce shortly that he will be fighting British fighter Amir Khan. Broner was talked about as an opponent for Manny Pacquiao, however since his loss it looks like the Philippine star will fight Danny Garcia.
The “Problem” could fight Brandon Rios who has just lost to the Pacman.
