Ashley Cole could find himself pushed towards the exit door at Chelsea after Jose Mourinho failed to see the funny side of his partying exploits, reports the Daily Express.

The England left-back has been out of form since the return of Mourinho in the summer and has fallen behind Cesar Azpilicueta in the pecking order.

Mourinho confirmed that Cole is unhappy with the situation.

He told reporters earlier this month: "I don't think he is happy. I don't ask, but I don't think he is."

The Special One confirmed that Cole will continue to sit on the bench when Chelsea visit's Cole's former club Arsenal on Monday.

Cole couldn't have done himself any favours earlier this week when he was reported to have joined up with his former Arsenal team mates for their Christmas party after Mourinho cancelled Chelsea's following the shock defeat to Sunderland in the Capital One Cup.

And it appears that Mourinho was left so unimpressed with Cole's attitude that he is prepared to sell him in January to make room for new additions.

His potential availability has alerted Chelsea's Premier League rivals Liverpool and Tottenham, who are both interested in acquiring the services of the veteran.

Brendan Rodgers remains concerned over the ability of current left-back Jon Flanagan, who is standing in for the injured Jose Enrique.

Meanwhile, Tottenham have major concerns at left-back and have been forced to use centre-back Jan Vertonghen in the position several times this season.

Cole will no doubt concerned a season on the bench will see him left out of England's squad for the World Cup and would be attracted by the prospect of first team football.
