Chelsea look set to win the race for Southampton star Luke Shaw - if the youngster is given a guaranteed place in the first-team, reports The Mirror.
With Ashley Cole's future up in the air at Stamford Bridge, Shaw now looks ready to join Jose Mourinho's side.
This will come as a blow to Manchester United as the Red Devils had previously been linked with a move for the 18-year-old.
David Moyes wants bring in a long term replacement for French left-back Patrice Evra, however he may now have to look elsewhere.
If Shaw is offered a regular starting role at the Blues, then he could leave Southampton behind.
It remains to be seen as to whether Chelsea will make a move for the England starlet in January, however with the likes of Manchester United interested in the star they may look to complete a move for the star in the near future.
Chelsea's immediate attention will be on their trip to the Emirates Stadium tomorrow as they take on fellow title rivals Arsenal.
