Chelsea left-back Ashley Cole could retire at the end of the season after struggling under Jose Mourinho this season, reports The Daily Mail

It has been suggested that the 33-year-old is considering the prospect of finishing his career at the top playing for England in next summer's World Cup.

Cole has had a tricky season under Blues boss Jose Mourinho in this campaign, having been left out of the side on a number of occasions.

And now - after links with a move to the MLS - Cole may finish his career at Stamford Bridge.

Cole has had a fine career and has enjoyed great success in England's elite division at the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea, however the left-back may now hang up his boots in the summer.

Cole looks set for a place on the bench as the Blues travel to Premier League rivals Arsenal tomorrow night, but will be hoping to feature against his former side.

Despite having not completely made his mind up, this could well be the last season in professional football for one of England's greatest ever left-backs.
