Barcelona's third entry in the top 10 so far is creative talisman Andres Iniesta, largely responsible for bringing potency and purpose to their all-consuming possession-based style in the final third.

Iniesta may have got on the scoresheet just once in La Liga so far this season but has been as consistent in 2013 as just about any other calendar year in his distinguished career to date, unlocking defences in Spain with alarming ease.

Approaching 30 the Spanish schemer supreme has the lure of chasing a treble with Barca followed by the defence of the World Cup with his country, more than enough to keep perhaps the best playmaker of the modern age in peak form next year.
