Manchester United have launched a £30million bid for Atletico Madrid's Koke, according to reports in Spain.

The Daily Mail also claim that Red Devils boss David Moyes has made Koke his number one midfield target and is desperate to land the Spain international in January.

Manchester United have been linked with several midfielders over the last couple of months as Moyes has highlighted his side's engine room as an area that needs improving.

Summer signing Marouane Fellaini has failed to settle into life at Old Trafford and Anderson could leave the Premier League champions when the transfer window re-opens in the new year.

Tom Cleverley has impressed in recent weeks and Darren Flecther returned to the first-team fold earlier this month, however Moyes is still keen to strengthen his midfield options.

The likes of Ander Herrera, Ilkay Gundogan and Marco Reus have all been linked with Manchester United in recent weeks, however it now appears 21-year-old Koke is now at the top of Moyes' transfer wishlist.
