PSG readying £30m bid for key Chelsea star

Paris Saint Germain are preparing to flex their financial muscle in an attempt to bring out of favour Chelsea star Juan Mata to the Parc des Princes, according to the Evening Standard.

The Spaniard has largely struggled for game-time since the appointment of Jose Mourinho, despite the fact that he has been a key performer in the last two campaigns.

His situation has done little to quell transfer speculation, and PSG have been regularly linked with a big money move for him since the summer.

It’s now rumoured that the French champions are readying a £30million offer to meet Chelsea’s valuation of the playmaker, who signed for the Blues for £23.5million in 2011.

Mata’s lack of game-time has put his chances of selection for Spain’s World Cup squad in jeopardy and so the 24-year-old is unlikely to object to a move away from Stamford Bridge.

Whilst Mourinho has insisted that he does not want to sell Mata, a transfer away is looking increasingly likely given PSG’s determination.
