Chelsea have sent Bertrand Traore on loan immediately following his arrival at the club yesterday (Wednesday).

The 18-year-old penned professional forms at Stamford Bridge on the opening day of the January transfer window, but is now on his way out of west London on a short-term deal.

A full international with Burkina Fasco, the highly-rated midfielder will challenge for first team opportunities in a side that has already benefited from Blues players this season and is challenging for the domestic title.

"Traore signed for Chelsea following a successful trial period with the club during the summer, and now heads to the Netherlands to gain first-team experience,” the club wrote on their official website.

"Traore will link up with a Vitesse side which is currently second in the Eredivisie, on the same points as leaders Ajax."

The announcement came alongside news that Gael Kakuta and Sam Hutchinson, who have spent the first part of the season on loan in Holland, will be returning to Chelsea.

Jose Mourinho has recalled the young pair following the busy festive period in the capital, but it’s unclear if they’ll be in first team contention on the King’s Road.

Chelsea recorded an impressive 3-0 win at Southampton in the Premier League on New Year’s Day, and currently sit third in the table.
