Manchester United winger Ashley Young will miss his side's FA Cup tie against Swansea City on Sunday due to an ankle injury.

The 28-year-old winger was brought down in the final stages of Manchester United's encounter against Tottenham by Hugo Lloris.

Referee Howard Webb failed to award Manchester United a penalty kick to the disgust of David Moyes.

And the Scotsman will be even more displeased with news that Young will be sidelined for Manchester United's upcoming games.

Moyes, speaking before his side's first FA Cup tie under his stewardship, confirmed that Young had sustained an injury on New Year's Day.

"Ashley has got an injury that is going to keep him out for a time," said Moyes.

"It is a shoulder injury he received in the challenge by the goalkeeper. I am not sure how long it will be."

Moyes will be hoping his side can bounce back from their 2-1 Premier League defeat against Tottenham when they host Swansea at Old Trafford.

The Manchester United boss may ring the changes on Sunday as his side face Sunderland at the Stadium of Light in the Capital One Cup in midweek.
