Barcelona ready to muscle in on £30m Chelsea star

Barcelona are ready to rejoin the race for Chelsea star Juan Mata, according to French newspaper Le10Sport.

The source claims that the reigning Spanish champions are interested in the prospect of bringing the out of favour playmaker to the Nou Camp, and are ready to go head to head with Paris Saint-Germain in order to get their man.

Mata has been repeatedly linked with the exit door at Stamford Bridge this season, and speculation surrounding his future has heightened since the opening of the winter transfer window.

With the majority of media traffic being focused around the fact that Mata and Mourinho remain at loggerheads as to his importance at Chelsea, it’s widely expected that he will depart this month, with a mooted £30million being the expected fee.

The likes of Manchester United, Juventus and Napoli have all been credited as registering some sort of interest, but it’s PSG who are said to be the closest on his tail.

And it now looks as though Barcelona are set to jump in right at the top of the pile, as they appear to be a very desirable location for the 25-year-old former Valencia star.
