Italian legend Francesco Totti believes former Arsenal outcast Gervinho would be like Cristiano Ronaldo if he scored goals.

Totti, who is currently starring at Roma alongside Gervinho, believes the Ivorian is "incredible" and would have been out of Roma's price range if he had scored more goals to his name.

Gervinho has played a key role in Roma's fine start to the season which sees the Italian outfit currently sitting second in Serie A just five points behind league leaders Juventus. Roma are still unbeaten in Italy's top flight this season as they go in search of glory.

And Totti certainly believes the addition of Gervinho has helped the team as he's compared the Ivorian ace to former World Player of the Year, Cristiano Ronaldo.

Speaking to the La Gazzetta dello Sport, Totti said:  "I had seen him play a few times for Arsenal, but up close he's incredible. If he scored goals as well, he'd be another Cristiano Ronaldo and Roma wouldn't have been able to afford him."

Totti's great praise of Gervinho will certainly come a s a surprise to the Arsenal fans that were more than happy to see him leave the Emirates.

Gervinho put in a number of inconsistent performances during his time at Arsenal and there wouldn't have been many Gunners fans comparing him with one of the greatest players in world football.

Arsenal fans, what do you think? Should Arsene Wenger have kept hold of Gervinho?
