Out of favour Chelsea star Juan Mata has revealed his plans for the year ahead- simply to keep himself and those around him happy.
The Daily Star reports that the Spaniard, who has endured a thus far frustrating period since Jose Mourinho took over at Stamford Bridge, is not concerning himself with the transfer gossip hanging over his head, but wants only to enjoy himself.
Despite being one of the most influential players in the Blues’ squad over the last two seasons, Mata has seen his game-time significantly cut short since Mourinho’s appointment- only managing 17 appearances in all competitions this campaign.
The 25-year-old has subsequently been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge in this transfer window, with the likes of Paris Saint-Germain said to be interested in relieving his situation.
However Mata has gone on record to state that the only thing he is hoping for in 2014 is… happiness.
"My goal is to keep being happy and trying to make the people around me happy,” the Spaniard said.
"At the end, that’s what life is about!"
