Manchester United travel to the Stadium of Light tomorrow night as they look to bounce back against Sunderland in the Capital One Cup semi-final first leg.

The Red Devils were dumped out of the FA Cup at the hands of Swansea City yesterday and must now focus their attention to the one domestic cup that they can still win.

David Moyes made a number of changes as Manchester United were beaten yesterday and it's expected that the Scottish boss will make a number of changes for tomorrow's fixture.

Back in goal - to replace Anders Lindergaard - should come Spanish star David de Gea. Meanwhile in defence, the Red Devils should be boosted by the return of influential captain Nemanja Vidic. The Serbian sat out of United's clash with the Swans, but looks set to start at the Stadium of Light.

Patrice Evra, who was handed a rest yesterday, should replace Alexander Buttner in the left-back position, whilst Jonny Evans and Chris Smalling should keep their places in the back-line.

In midfield, youngster Adnan Januzaj - who came on as a second half substitute yesterday - should be a starter. The starlet struck twice as Manchester United came from behind at the Stadium of Light in the league game earlier this season and will be hoping for the nod tomorrow night.

Ryan Giggs could be in line to start for the Premier League champions and should partner Michael Carrick in the middle of the park, with Antonio Valencia occupying the other wing.

In attack, Manchester United look se to be boosted by the return of Wayne Rooney, who could replace yesterday's goalscorer Javier Hernandez.

Rooney looks set to partner his England teammate Danny Welbeck as the duo go in search of a positive result in the first leg.

After back-to-back defeats, David Moyes will know the importance of securing a crucial win against the Black Cats tomorrow evening.

Manchester United potential XI: De Gea, Smalling, Vidic, Evans, Evra, Januzaj, Carrick, Giggs, Valencia, Rooney, Welbeck
