Borrusia Monchengladbach Keeper Marc Andre ter Stegen has rejected a renewed contract offer from the Foals.
Sporting director Max Eberl has revealed through their official twitter account that the German has rejected the offer from the club and will leave at the end of the season.
Barcelona have been keeping tabs on the German shotstopper in recent years and with him now soon to be available on a free they look sure to snap him up.
"Ter Stegen will leave Borrusia “Marc has informed us he will not accept our offer” said sporting director Eberl.
Barcelona’s interest in the youngster will be even more prominent after it was revealed Thibaut Courtois would not be joining another club.
Ter Stegen has appeared at all levels for the German national team and despite his blunder in the friendly with the USA recently expectations for his future are high, especially with current German number one Manuel Neuer endorsing the youngster.
“He is a ‘keeper with a great future, he is sensational, a great goalkeeper,” said the Bayern star.
The news will not come lightly to Monchengladbach fans who’ve recently lost some of their best players to bigger teams most notable of which Marco Reus Joining rivals Borrusia Dortmund.
